At 'The War of the Worlds: The Immersive Experience,' I worked as a technician, contributing to the successful operation of the show. My responsibilities included troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arose during live performances. This involved working across various systems, including lighting, sound, special effects, and video.
I gained experience working with a range of industry-standard software, including Disguise (D3), QLab, Wintermute, and Jands Vista. These tools were crucial for controlling and coordinating the various elements of the show, from lighting and video to sound and special effects.
I also developed custom software solutions to improve show efficiency and enhance the guest experience. These included ShowTrak, which I developed from scratch to monitor flow control and provide reliable metrics for VR faults. ShowTrak VR led to a significant reduction in guests being affected by technical issues due to far improved monitoring and proactive problem-solving.
Furthermore, I conducted regular maintenance checks on all technical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize the risk of unforeseen issues. This proactive approach helped to maintain the high standards of the show and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
